This is a conclusion blog post with the pieces of work I’ve done for the last 9 weeks. We were told to select 2-3 of our work that we think were the best and share it to our blog. Today I present to you – How to create a good blog post and the importance of blogging. I have decided to pick those two because they are my most complex ones, I was able to fit the right amount of information in short sentences. I feel like it would be easier to read and understand if I was able to fit in the main point in 2 small paragraphs instead of longer sentences and bigger paragraphs.
To see my work, you can check my blog posts to have a read or maybe give some feedback.
Before my life ends, I would like to be known as the most famous doctor, I’d want my tombstone to say “I could save other people but couldn’t save myself lmao” The reason I’d want to be known as the most famous doctor is because I promised myself, I would become nothing else but a doctor. It’s a dream I’ve always had ever since I was a kid and I will make sure I achieve that goal no matter what.
Blogging is used for most schools and for others as well, blogging is a World Wide web to share information that is updated regularly. I think blogging is important because it is also a way to share creativity, productivity and a way of sharing your thoughts and opinions. It is important that we blog about our work, it’s another way to improve our writing skills and to show the community the improvement we may have had over time.
There are benefits to when blogging about your content, you can create more ideas and expand them, by doing that, others will get interested to your source of ideas and could possibly use your ideas as their inspiration. You could also get comments that differentiate your piece of work. After all, recognition is nice.
There are plenty of ways to balance out each of your Haura, but the main thing you should do is to keep healthy and you can do that by – getting enough sleep, drinking a lot of water, staying active. There are many things you could do to keep all 5 of your spaces balanced. Whatever you may consider “keeping good mental health”
What area of my Haura is strong?
The most balanced part of my haura is Taha Hinengaro. I know how to control my emotions and I know the best way to express them. I always think about my actions or words before expressing them because it wouldn’t only be me getting affected by the way I express these thoughts and feelings, others around me will for sure be affected by it.
What does an assertive person look like to you?
For me an assertive person is the ability to do something in a respectful and harmless way, this is more likely about speaking up for themselves or defending someone else.
I think teachers should go on a teacher strike for more pay rise. I think it is unfair that teachers get a low amount of money, they work so hard around during classrooms and they only get $20+ per hour which I think is unfair as we only have 50 minutes per period in those 6 periods. Also they provide for us which is unfair as they use their own money just to get us the stuff WE need.
It’s also the best to go on a strike as for us kids get no school, it is a benefit for us because I’d honestly wouldn’t waste my time doing too much work at school, I don’t think anyone would do that too.
Plants are living organisms that has multiple cells. Plants can reproduce sexually, however I will not be getting into details for how that works. Plants can grow in soil and use water and sunlight as food. That is in the process of photosynthesis.
The structure of a plant:
Why do plants have roots?
Firstly, the root is what keeps the plant in place but most importantly the root is basically their ‘life’ the root collects water, nutrients and air to bring it up to the leaves of a plant. So then the plant can interact with the sunlight to produce sugar and energy for itself.
Why do plants have a stem?
Plants have a stem to support the leaves or flower. And most importantly it is a tube that transports water and nutrients up to the leaves. And all of those came from the ‘root’.
There are external tubes that stay outside of the stem which hold water and food (nutrients) The names of the tubes are: Xylem and Phloem.
Why do plants have fruits?
The main function of the fruit is to spread seeds around the plant that can allow them to reproduce.
Why do plants have flowers?
When plants are mature enough and ready to reproduce, flowers grow. Flowers are involved in sexual reproduction that contains pollination and fertilization.
Why do plants have leaves?
Leaves are the most important part of a plant. They take nutrients, and carbon dioxide from the roots of the plant and bring it up to the leaves (using the stem) so they can interact with the sun and make their own food (sugar) and energy.
That is called photosynthesis, in order for photosynthesis to react, you need chlorophyll, carbon dioxide, water and sunlight.
Chlorophyll – It is a pigment that makes the leaf green.
Chloroplasts – It is a thing from the palisade cells that contain chlorophyll.
Photosynthesis – It is when a plant produces to make its own food.
This is the insides of a plant (not a cell)
The top layer is called the Cuticle. The cuticle is the part that protects the leaf.
The top and bottom skin of the leaf are called epidermis.
The palisade cells contain Chloroplasts, which Chloroplasts contain Chlorophyll.
The Stomata are the holes underneath the leaf. It is a hole for carbon dioxide to enter the holes and oxygen leaves.
The phloem transports food which is sugar which we oppose as ‘glucose’.
The xylem transports water.
Germination:
What is germination?
Germination is when an organism grows or sprouts from a seed.
Seeds don’t always need soil to germinate, they need sunlight, oxygen and water
Today we are going to be discussing today’s topic around microscopes. This blog will be a short one as I need to update it, because today we are only creating our blog post and using our microscopes. As we are using microscopes, we are to be given an onion to see what it looks like underneath the scope.
Research (Video)
The parts of a microscope:
Method
Equipment:
Onion
Tweezers
Cover slip
Glass slide
Iodine Solution
Instruction:
Get your equipment ready.
Get your tweezers and gently peel off the thin layer of onion skin cells.
Place the onion cell in the middle of the glass slide.
Place one small drop of Iodine solution in the middle of the onion cell.
Gently place down a cover slip on top of the onion cells.
Put the slide on the stage of the microscope gently.
Use the smallest lens and focus the image, use the next biggest lens and focus the image, and then use the biggest one lastly.
Results:
Discussion:
How do you onions make you cry?
When an onion is cut, a substance called ‘lachrymator’ is released in the air, causing the nerves around your eyes to become watery and irritated.
How are microscopes able to zoom in so much?
There is a lens that sits closer to the object and a lens that sits much closer to your eyes. Both contribute to magnification of the object.
How does it magnify?
When an object is being viewed underneath a microscope, the light bends towards your eye and makes the object appear larger.
How are you able to see smaller things underneath a microscope?
The object you put underneath your microscope is magnified through one of the lenses. That causes the light to bend right at your eye and makes the object appear larger than its normal size.
How does the lens bend the light?
Using a convex lens, which is used to refract the lights direction directly to your eyes, causing the object to appear larger.
What is a microscope?
A microscope is an instrument that is used to observe smaller objects or cells.
Conclusion:
This project was one of my favorites, though the discussion part was difficult to come up with.
