Reflection – SELIP

Kia ora readers!

In SELIP week 3, we constantly worked on to practice identifying the main ideas of a given text or paragraph, we have been doing this activity since week 1, this is a skill needed for our upcoming assessments and it could be helpful for people who are sitting an exam in week 4. I’m already familiar with english and I didn’t relly find anything challenging with the task, but I know there’s still improvements to be made, so what I learnt by practising this is how to identify the main idea and give out the supporting details to the main point which helped me understand the text better and write better about it – So yes I was able to achieve the learning objective and the task. With this skill, I can apply it for future assessments dedicated with English.

Reflection – ESOL

Hello readers,

Today in ESOL we did a speech practice by talking about what our book is about – basically a summary of what our book is about. From this activity, I learnt how to confidently speak in front of someone even if it is just a small audience, the good part about this is that we didn’t just speak to one person, people from different tables actually switched to go to my table. It was a very intense moment of speaking but with that I learnt how to not speak with being scared, instead I spoke with confidence.

For me this activity helped me become a better speaker for future speeches that I need to do in ESOL.
